A new file from visible pixels

When saving, the selected crop is drawn onto a new canvas and encoded as PNG. This prevents image metadata from being carried over from the original file.

Save directly or download

Browsers with file access ask where to save the file. Other browsers start a conventional download; the tool then warns about possible Windows alternate streams such as Zone.Identifier hin.

Frequently asked questions

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The files are processed exclusively by your browser on your device.

Are faces or image content obscured?

No. The tool removes file metadata and can crop unwanted edge areas. Visible faces, signs and other image content remain.

Can I edit several images?

Yes. You can choose several image files or drag them into the selection together. Each output receives a neutral file name.

Is the crop final?

No. You can move the frame, resize it at the corners or reset all images at any time before saving.

Terms used in this tool

Metadata: Additional information such as location, capture time, camera model, description or author name.
PNG chunks: Technical building blocks of a PNG file. The output contains only the image header, pixel data and file end.
Zone.Identifier: A possible Windows origin marker outside the image file that some browsers create for conventional downloads.
